Maidu Virtual Charter Academy was founded in 2018 in an effort to meet a broader range of student learning needs within the Placer Union High School District and neighboring communities/counties. Updated Charter Petition (2026)
LOCAL CONTROL ACCOUNTABILITY PLAN (LCAP)
The LCAP is a three-year plan that describes the goals, actions, services, and expenditures to support positive student outcomes that address state and local priorities. The LCAP provides an opportunity for LEAs (county office of education [COE], school districts and charter schools) to share their stories of how, what, and why programs and services are selected to meet their local needs.
California Education Code (EC) sections 52065 and 47606.5(i) require that all LCAPs approved by the governing board or body of the LEA be prominently posted on the homepage of the LEA's website.

NONDISCRIMINATION NOTICE
Charter schools are not allowed to discourage a pupil from enrolling or seeking to enroll in the charter school because the pupil exhibits any characteristics such as students with disabilities, academically low-achieving, English learners, neglected or delinquent, homeless, socially economically disadvantaged, foster youth, or based on nationality, race, ethnicity, or sexual orientation. Charter schools are not allowed to request a pupil's records before enrollment or encourage a child who is enrolled in a charter school to disenroll or transfer to another school. A parent, guardian, or pupil (18 years or older) may file a Charter School Complaint Form to the authorizing entity if they suspect the charter school is in violation of California Education Code Section 47605(e)(4)(A) through (E).
